Australian feature film BROKERS to be filmed on the Gold Coast

Village Roadshow Studios - Queensland -

Village Roadshow Studios on Australia’s Gold Coast has been confirmed as the studio for filming of the $20 million Australian feature film BROKERS in Oct/Nov 2019.

BROKERS is a Wallace Media Group (WMG) production and the film’s Executive Producer and WMG CEO James Wallace said “we are absolutely thrilled to be working with Lynne Benzie and her team at Village Roadshow Studios. Their energy and enthusiasm fits beautifully with our team and there is an exciting and infectious spirit building within the entire production crew as we nudge closer to the October 14th start date for studio filming.

Lynne Benzie (President of Village Roadshow Studios) confirmed “three stages are booked for  BROKERS and the Village team are delighted to have a significant Australian feature film scheduled into their production lineup”.

A great cast includes lead Christopher Egan (LETTERS TO JULIETTE, RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION) and Isabel Lucas (TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR). Negotiations are well advanced with several major international A-List actors for two pivotal roles and Australian casting has commenced through Lou Mitchell of Maura Fay Casting.

BROKERS is a romantic drama inspired by James Wallace’s own life story. It follows Kingsley Walker, a young Australian currency trading prodigy who is lured to the bright lights of New York with an offer he can’t refuse.

BROKERS will be directed by Glenn Fraser, the award-winning Australian director behind human-trafficking drama, THE VEILED. A Sundance alumnus and winner of one of the Sydney Film Festival’s top prizes, Glenn brings a playful and passionate understanding of the frictions between class and power structures that are at the emotional core of our characters.

The team includes Hollywood based Producer Christine Peters (HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS), Paul Brenner (Producer), Briar Rose (Associate Producer) Tom Gleeson (Cinematographer), Ben Wilson (Production Designer),  Michael Rumpf (Art Director), Peta Ross (Line Producer - DANGER CLOSE: THE BATTLE OF LONG TAN), Joseph de la Hoyde (Composer) and Glenn Gibson (Marketing/Product Placement). Visual effects and all digital post production will be handled by the team at KOJO led by Marty Pepper (Executive VFX Supervisor).

BROKERS Australia / NZ distribution will be via Forum Films and international distribution to 43 countries via Radiant Films International.
